Planning Stage

We were very thorough in our planning for the piece so that our target audience knew what was happening and without the necessary props in our piece we would struggle to get the message that we wanted to create to the audience.

The props that we used included cans that we all drank in the community centre, rope to tie Fogul up when he got kidnapped, sweets that Harry Bow ate all of the time, a bin bag for when Harry kidnapped Fogul, glasses for Fogul to wear and headphones for when Fogul was listening to his Ipod. Robin brought in sweets, rope and a bin bag; while Jack organised the glasses and the headphones.

When we first fully devised our script, we decided that we would need to bring in an extra to help us complete our piece. The other person decided that he would help us complete our piece but was unavailable for the day that we decided filming. Because of this we decided to edit our script slightly so that we would not need this other actor and that we could switch people using the camera. We could then still incorporate all the characters that we first decided we would use at the start.

Location was extremely difficult to decide on leading up to filming. At the start we were wary of other people filming and their locations and we wanted to make sure that we would not be interrupted and have the resources around us that were suitable to our film. We strongly considered filming out of school and thought of various different locations that would work for us. But in the end we decided to keep all of our filming in school. We decided to film around the sixth form block and inside the sixth form block after school. We finally decided to film in these particular places because all other students in the school would have gone home and there would not be hundreds of children walking past and making us stop. Also we could get straight on with our filming as it was straight after school and there was no excuses for me, Jack or Robin not coming to film.

We devised an original storyboard that we made incorporated our first storyline which we didn't pursue with. The characters stayed the same from the very start and we just slightly edited the stotryline so we kept the same base for the story board and just changed different sections of it to make it work. A slight problem that we encountered was that only two people were allowed in a scene because of the pull-out of our extra, so we had to make sure that every scene contained only two of the three characters.
